LaGrange, GA -- The 2010 Great South Athletic Conference tennis year-end awards have been released with five Piedmont players making the list of honorees as announced by the league office this afternoon. Men's tennis player
Moses Das headlined the award winners as the sophomore was named Men's GSAC Co-Player of the Year.
Das never fell in GSAC singles competition this season donning a perfect 5-0 mark at the top singles slot. The Ellenwood, GA native also won every conference singles match he played in straight sets.
Joining Das as a conference award winner was teammate
Andrew Peck who earned a spot on the GSAC All-Academic team this spring.
On the women's side of the net, senior
Tyler Baldonado also claimed a spot on the GSAC All-Academic team as did juniors
Emilie Garner and
Jennifer Granlund. To become a member of the GSAC All-Academic team, a student-athlete must carry better than a 3.25 cumulative GPA and be at least a sophomore in the classroom.
The women's tennis team will return to action on Friday, April 30 while the men's team will take to the court on Saturday, May 1 as Piedmont will play host to the 2010 Great South Athletic Conference Tennis Championship tournament over the weekend.
