LaGrange, GA -- The Piedmont College baseball team dropped a 10-4 decision to Great South Athletic Conference member LaGrange College this evening.  The Lions were outhit 12 to 8 as they fell for just the third time this season in conference play.

After Curtis Cornett put PC on the board in the first inning to provide an early lead for the road team, the host Panthers would score ten runs over seven innings en route to a six run win.  Three costly Lions errors led to four unearned runs for LaGrange and proved too much for the visitors to overcome.

Offensively, PC was led by sophomore Kyle Davis who collected two RBIs in a 1-5 performance at the plate.   Kevin McConnell pitched in with a 2-5 day and senior catcher Zac Stein scored twice collecting a hit in three plate appearances.

On the mound, Spencer Shelton took his fifth loss of the season allowing eight runs of which only four were earned.

The loss moves Piedmont to 18-14 overall and 4-3 in GSAC play.  The Lions face a quick turnaround as they will play the second game of a three game series with LaGrange College on Saturday, April 17 with the first pitch set for 3:00.
