Greensboro, NC -- The Piedmont College baseball team used five multi-run innings to run away with a 14-5 victory this afternoon at Greensboro College. PC never trailed in the game taking an early first inning lead before eventually grabbing the win by a nine run margin.
In a game that saw five different Lions tab multi-hit performances, Piedmont knocked in five runs in the top of the first only to see Greensboro score two runs of its own in the home half. PC responded quickly by adding on two runs in each of the next two innings to push the lead to seven.
After the Pride grabbed a run in both the fourth and fifth, Piedmont would collect five late inning insurance runs en route to their fifth road win of the season by a final of 14-5.
Kevin McConnell had a 4-5 day from the plate with all four hits going for extra bases. The sophomore notched five RBIs off three doubles and a three run homer, his fourth of the season.
Curtis Cornett went 3-6 as he scored four runs while batting in one more.

Zac Stein all had multi-hit outings as the Lions scored their fourteen runs on sixteen hits with all but two runs earned.
The win went to pitcher
Dusty Black, his third of the year, as the junior from Commerce, GA threw six complete innings allowing only three scores while striking out two. Piedmont's bullpen also contributed tossing three innings in relief that saw no earned runs cross the plate.
The victory completes Piedmont's season sweep over Greensboro with all three victories coming on the road. The Lions improve to 8-10 overall and will return to action when they host Translyvania University on Saturday, March 20th with game time set for 5:00.
