Decatur, GA --
The Piedmont College volleyball team earned their second win of the day in the 2010 Great South Athletic Conference Championship Tournament with a 3-0 victory over the second seeded Scots of Maryville College.  The straight decision win was the second of the afternoon for the Lady Lions who earned their first tournament victory over Maryville since the 2007 GSAC final that gave Piedmont its last volleyball conference title.

In one of the tightest three set contests Piedmont has played all season long, the Lady Lions took each set by a 25-23 score in the semifinal battle.  The win puts Piedmont at an efficient 14-4 in matches decided in three sets during the 2010 campaign.

Having an all-around performance was consistent senior Heather Stafford who earned eight kills, 17 set assists, and 11 digs.  Stafford led all hitters in kills while junior Erin Krause chipped in seven of her own to the Piedmont attack.
