LaGrange, GA -- The Piedmont College volleyball team defeated conference rival LaGrange College earlier this evening three sets to one for their fourth consecutive win. The Lady Lions used solid hitting with complete defense to defeat the Panthers for the second time in less than a week.
After taking sets one and two with relative ease 25-10 and 25-18, PC fell in set number four by a tight 22-25 score. The Lady Lions would rally to close out the match grabbing a 25-14 win in the fourth set earning a 3-1 match win for the night.
Sophomore
Hallye Jerkins tallied eight kills for the night while senior outside hitter
Kalin DeMarrais grabbed ten of her own. Veteran
Heather Stafford continued her hot hitting by posting 13 kills on 27 attempts with no errors.
On the defensive end,
Paige Eslinger once again led the way with 17 digs though sophomore
Erin Krause posted a solid performance with ten digs havin only played three sets.
With the win, the Lady Lions move to 14-11 on the season. Piedmont will quickly get back into action when they face Spelman College on Saturday, October 23 in a Great South Athletic Conference tri-match starting at 3:00 in Montgomery, AL.
