Stille Leads Lions Past LaGrange 2-1

Senior Jeremy Stille posted an assist and the game-winner in the Lions' 2-1 victory over Great South member LaGrange College this evening in LaGrange, GA.

The visiting Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated Great South Athletic Conference member LaGrange College this evening by the score of 2-1. The win marks the first conference victory of the season for the Lions who move to 1-0-1 in the GSAC.

Jeremy Stille assisted fellow senior Jorge Pradilla for the first goal of the match at the 22nd minute. A mere three minutes later Stille broke away for the second and eventual game-winner. The Lions held the home team scoreless for the next 58 minutes.

The Panthers cut the margin in half at the 83rd minute, but dropped the one-goal decision. Goalkeeper Brian Gaid was up to the task posting five saves for his fourth win of the season. The Lions were outshot 6-3 but made the most of their opportunities.

On the season the squad is 4-1 when scoring first and is an even 2-2 in one-goal decisions. PC, now 4-3-1 overall, will return to the pitch on Saturday, October 3rd as they travel to USA-South member Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC with kick-off scheduled for 2:00.
