Photo Gallery vs. Huntingdon
Montgomery, AL -- The Piedmont College volleyball team traveled to Great South Athletic Conference member Huntingdon College this evening and picked up the 3-0 non-conference win. Two Lady Lions reached double-figures in kills while the team committed only 22 errors en route to victory.
The squad will return to the court again on short rest tomorrow, September 26th as they travel to GSAC member LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA. The Lady Lions will take on the host Panthers in a non-conference matchup at 12:00 and then Birmingham Southern College at 2:00.
PC held the home-standing Hawks to 17 points in the first frame and 16 points in the final two frames respectively. The team's defense held the opposition to single digit kill totals in each of the three games.
Senior
Katie Tucker led the team with 12 kills while
Kalin DeMarrais closely followed with 11 kills. Setter
Tyler Baldonado notched 37 digs while
Jennifer Granlund posted a match high 16 digs.
The win is the fifth straight-set decision for Piedmont, who improves to 10-4 overall. These two teams will meet in a Great South Athletic Conference match on Friday, October 16th at Cave Arena in Demorest, GA.
