Danville, KY -- The Piedmont College volleyball team traveled to the Centre College Classis this afternoon and split a pair of matches. In the tournaments opener the Lady Lions fell to Transylvania University 3-1 but rebounded to outlast Hanover College in five games.

The split snaps the squad's winning streak at five matches and moves PC to 9-4 overall. The Lady Lions will travel to Great South Athletic Conference member Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL on Friday, September 25th for a non-conference matchup starting at 7:00.

After dropping the first set 25-20 in the opener the women answered with a 25-23 second set point. The third set proved to be the turning point as TU took the point 27-25 and uses that momentum to take the fourth and final 25-18.

Kalin DeMarrais led the offense with 11 kills while Katie Tucker chipped-in with seven. Setter Tyler Baldonado notched 30 assists while Nikki Cole added a team high 23 digs.

In the finale PC fell in the opener 26-24 but rallied to win the next two 25-21 and 25-13. HC forced a fifth set with a 25-20 point but could not withstand the Lady Lions in the final frame and fell 15-9.
