Birmingham, AL -- In a non-conference matchup the Piedmont College baseball team traveled to Birmingham, AL this afternoon and fell to host Birmingham Southern College by the score of 6-1. The Lions could only muster four hits and committed a pair of errors in their fourth defeat in the last five games.
The Panthers struck early with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. The home team would extend the lead to 5-0 with three earned runs in the third. The Lions posted a single run in the fourth to cut into the deficit as senior

BSC answered right back with the sixth and final run in the home half to extend the advantage. The Lions were outhit 11-4 and stranded six runners on base.
Sophomore
Dusty Black came out of the bullpen to throw three innings of scoreless relief allowing one hit while striking out three.
The Lions (15-14) will look to rebound on Thursday, April 9th as they host Great South Athletic Conference member Maryville College at Loudermilk Field beginning at 7:00.
