Men's Soccer Advances To Finals With 3-1 Victory

Jorge Pradilla posted a pair of goals including the game-winner as the Lions defeated LaGrange College 3-1 this afternoon in GSAC Tournament action.

In the Great South Athletic Conference Tournament the second-seeded Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated #3 LaGrange College by the score of 3-1 this afternoon to advance to the championship match. The Lions will take on top-seeded and tournament host Maryville College tomorrow, November 7th beginning at 3:00.

The Lions opened the score at the 10th minute as Sidney Smith, the GSAC Co-Freshman of the Year, found the back of the net unassisted. The 1-0 advantage would last until after halftime when the Panthers knotted the score just one minute into the second frame.

Jorge Pradilla, the GSAC Player of the Year, found the eventual game-winner 15 minutes later and tacked on an insurance goal at the 78th minute, both unassisted. Goalkeeper Brian Gaid recorded a pair of saves for his ninth win of the season.

The Lions dominated the offense outshooting the opposition 17-6 and forcing six corner kicks. The men now stand at 9-8-1 overall.
