Netters Post Third Consecutive Straight Set Victory

Heather Stafford posted a match best eight kills in the Lady Lions' 3-0 victory over Agnes Scott College this evening at Cave Arena.

For the third consecutive match the Piedmont College volleyball team notched a straight set victory, tonight at the hands of Great South Athletic Conference member Agnes Scott College in Cave Arena. The Lady Lions now stand at 6-1 in the GSAC and are one win away from locking the #2 seed in the upcoming GSAC Championship.

PC committed only eight errors for the duration of the match and connected on 35% of its attacks. Seven different Lady Lions tallied kills while the defense posted the only eight blocks of the match.

After taking the first set 25-10 the visitors could only muster point totals of eight and 11 in the final two frames. Heather Stafford posted a match high eight kills and hit at a 73% clip. Tyler Baldonado recorded 18 assists and now stands seven assists from tying the Piedmont career record.

Libero Jennifer Granlund continued her strong back line play with 10 digs and three service aces while Katie Tucker earned a solo block and a pair of block assists.

The win improves the Lady Lions to 17-7 overall. The women will return to the court again on Saturday, October 24th as they travel to the Erskine College Invitational in Due West, SC for a triple header beginning at 12:00.
