The Piedmont College baseball team lost its sixth game of the season this afternoon 14-3 at Loudermilk Field at the hands of the Majors from Millsaps College. MC pounded out 14 hits and scored in six of the nine innings en route to the eleven-run victory.
After Millsaps notched 10 runs over the course of the first five innings, the Lions' lone run production came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Justin Oates connected on a two-out bases loaded double plating a pair of runs. Travis Hunt followed with an infield single for Piedmont's third run. The Majors answered with a single run in the seventh and three insurance runs in the eighth and cruised to victory.
Oates led the offense going 1-2 with a pair of walks and RBI's. Hunt went 1-3 with an RBI while Stan Brosko chipped in going 1-4 with a run scored. The Majors offense produced 14 earned runs on 14 hits, including four extra base hits.
PC moves to 2-6 overall on the season. The Lions and Majors will wrap up the two-game series tomorrow afternoon at Loudermilk Field with first pitch scheduled for 2:00.Â
