With the Great South Athletic Conference regular-season title on the line the Piedmont College baseball team defeated host LaGrange College by the score of 13-4 to be crowned regular-season champs. The title marks the first in school's history as LaGrange held the title for five consecutive years.
The Lions struck early scoring a pair of runs in the first inning while stealing four bases. The teams remained scoreless until PC scored in the final five innings to seal the nine-run victory.
Freshman Andy Graf continued his impressive pitching winning his fifth consecutive game and throwing seven scoreless innings. He struckout two hitters and only faced four more hitters than the minimum.
Senior Mike Santowski led the offense going 3-6 with three RBI's and three runs scored. Stan Brosko added a 2-5 day with two runs scored and Cole Spedale went 2-4 with two RBI's and a run scored.
Today's game marked the final regular season contest for the Lions who finish the regular season with an overall record of 25-15 and 10-2 mark in the Great South Athletic Conference. Piedmont will be the top seed in the GSAC Tournament in Demorest, GA beginning Saturday, April 29th.
