PC Completes Weekend Sweep Of Huntingdon 9-8

In a second consecutive one-run game the Piedmont College baseball team tallied the series sweep of Huntingdon College by the score of 9-8. In a game that featured three lead changes PC scored the eventual game winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning and held on for the one-run victory.

B.J. Hampton pitched four and a third innings of relief allowing three runs on six hits. Josh Berens pitched the final two innings allowing no runs on one hit striking out two for his fourth save of the season.

The Lions offense tallied double-digit hits for the fifth consecutive game and were led by Trey McCay who went 4-5 with a pair of doubles and runs scored. Mike Santwoski went 3-4 with an RBI and Stan Brosko and Evan Nissley both recorded an RBI apiece.

The sweep moves PC to 17-11 overall and 6-0 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lions will return to action again on Tuesday, April 4th as they travel to Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA for an 8:00 start.
