Billy Secor Throws Compete-Game Gem For 5-1 Victory Over Edgewood

Behind a solid outing by senior pitcher Billy Secor the Piedmont College baseball team defeated visiting Edgewood College 5-1 tonight at Loudermilk Field as PC allowed zero earned runs in the win. Offensively the Lions posted 11 hits and scored in three different innings for the victory.

Piedmont opened the scoring with three-run third inning and tacked on insurance runs in the sixth and eight innings respectively. 

Secor's line included 11 strikeouts while only allowing one walk and scattering 10 hits. The victory moves his overall record to 3-1 and the complete game marks his third of the season.

Offensively the Lions were led by Andy House and Mike Santowski who went 3-4 and 2-3 respectively. Walker Searcy and Tim Jones added an RBI apiece and Cole Spedale went 2-5 with a stolen base and a run scored.

The victory moves PC to 7-5 overall. These two teams will complete the two-game series tomorrow at Loudermilk Field with first-pitch slated for 3:00.
