The Piedmont College men's basketball team rallied in the second half but came up short in a 104-91 Great South Athletic Conference loss at Fisk University this afternoon in Nashville, TN. Jake Baldwin led all scorers with a game-high 26 points to lead the Lions.
After an even first ten minutes of the game, the home-standing Bulldogs caught fire as they stretched out to a comfortable 59-38 halftime lead behind 55% shooting from the field including 5-8 (63%) from three-point range.
After intermission, the Lions rallied with a late charge as they outscored Fisk 53-45 but it was too little too late as they could only cut the lead to as little as 12 points.
Jake Green added 15 points and six assists for the Lions while teammate Brent Walker chipped in with eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
The loss drops Piedmont to 11-10 overall on the season and 1-5 in GSAC action. Piedmont begins a three-game home stand Wednesday night with a league contest against visiting LaGrange College with tip-off set for 8:00 PM in PC's Johnny Mize Athletic Center.
