The Piedmont College volleyball team posted four wins to earn a clean sweep of the Great South Athletic Conference weekend held at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center. The Lady Lions did not drop a single set en route to defeating Agnes Scott, Fisk University, Huntingdon College, and LaGrange College all by the score of 3-0.
On Friday, Piedmont disposed of Agnes Scott by the scores of 30-14, 30-22, & 30-15. On Saturday, the team earned a trifecta of conference victories by defeating Fisk 30-11, 30-15, & 30-22 before beating Huntingdon (30-13, 30-15, & 35-33), and LaGrange (30-26, 30-25, & 30-19).
Sarah Lane led the Lady Lions by averaging nearly 11 kills per game. Jacque DeMarrais and Ashley Landers added by averaging nearly nine kills per game each.
B.J. Ostrzycki averaged nearly 30 assists in the three matches she competed in while Haylee Davis added a Lady Lion weekend high of 33 assists against Fisk.
Meghann Clark continued her impressive freshman campaign by averaging exactly eight kills per game on the weekend.
Piedmont improves to 10-7 overall and 7-2 in the Great South. The Lady Lions return to action on Friday, September 30th as they host GSAC opponent Spelman College at 4:00 and non-conference Brenau University at 8:00.
