The Piedmont College men's soccer team fell to Methodist College by the score of 4-2 in Fayetteville, NC this afternoon. In a closely contested match, the Lions earned 10 shots on goal, but could make-up the early two goal deficit.
The game featured four goals in the first 18 minutes as Methodist struck with the first two goals at the 10:00 and 13:00 minute marks.
PC responded with Alan Creasy earning an unassisted goal at the 15:00 mark. The Lions dropped another first-half goal at the 18:00 minute mark to trail 3-1 going into the half.
Piedmont cut the lead to 3-2 on a goal from Drew Griffin at the 55:00 mark, but could not earn the equalizer as Methodist tacked on an insurance goal at the 82:00 mark.
PC now stands at 3-6 overall and will be back in action again on Monday, September 26th as they host Great South Athletic Conference opponent LaGrange College at Walker Field with game-time set for 7:30.
