PC Men's Soccer Shutouts Oglethorpe 1-0

The Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated visiting Oglethorpe University at Walker Field tonight by the score of 1-0 as the Lions improve their home-winning streak to 17 games. Despite being outshot 15-7 Piedmont was able to play solid defense and earn the victory.

Deadlocked at the half, Drew Griffin (pictured) connected on the game-winning goal at the 65:00 minute mark on an assist from Josh Seabrook. The goal marked Griffin's team-leading third goal of the season.

In goal Patrick Ratigan earned his first shutout of the season by saving fifteen shots on goal. The shutout marks the first for the Lions in eleven previous matches dating back to 2004.

Piedmont improves to 2-4 overall and will return to action Friday, September 16th as they host Great South Athletic Conference opponent Fisk University at Walker Field with game-time set for 4:00.
