Mikayla Ramos joined the Piedmont University women's lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant in the summer of 2026 with her first season on staff being the 2027 campaign.
Having played at a conference rival during her collegiate career, Ramos brought her experience from five years at Methodist University with her to Demorest adding to the already competitive fire that fueled Piedmont's women's lacrosse program.
Head Coach Brooke Thacker was focused on that same knowledge that her newest coaching staff addition was bringing with her, saying "After a standout career, she brings firsthand knowledge of what it takes to compete and succeed at a high level. She is someone who I believe will make an immediate impact on our program and will help continue to push our student athletes to be their best as we continue to build something special here at Piedmont."
Ramos' excitement was clear as well when asked of the move, saying "After a long time of respecting the program as fierce competitors, I am thrilled to be on the sidelines adding the experience of being a Lion!"

Prior to Piedmont
~ Collegiate Playing Career with fellow conference member Methodist University ~
Ramos came from fellow conference member Methodist University where she finished her playing career with the Monarchs in 2025 capping a career that saw her serve as a team captain while working as a graduate student full-time.
A member of the team from 2020-2025, Ramos' largest contributions on the field came on the offensive end as she finished her career ranking 2nd all-time in both points and goals for the Monarchs women's lacrosse program.
Ramos scored nearly 200 goals in her career to go with 91 assists, but also saw great team success in her time with Methodist as well leading the team 2024 Regular Season Championship.
That '24 Monarch squad did something only Meredith College and the Lions of Piedmont have done - go undefeated in conference play through a USA South Regular Season in women's lacrosse.
Earning a spot on the 2024 USA South All-Conference team, Ramos was a three-time All-Conference honoree in her career while also being named to the USA South All-Tournament Team three times as well.

As consistent as Ramos was on the field, she was even better in the classroom being named to the Dean's List and President's List while also earning Academic All-Conference honors and being heavily involved with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as an Executive Board Member.
~ Not Shy of Coaching Experience ~
Ramos brings coaching experience with her to Demorest serving as a club coach at Central PA Fusion Lacrosse and conducting individual skill sessions since 2023.
