Rachel Hines

Rachel Hines enters her third season as an assistant coach with the Piedmont women's soccer team in the fall of 2020. Hines joined the Piedmont staff after her own four year playing career as a forward at the University of Washington. 

In 2020, the Lady Lions finished with a 14-7-1 record and a 6-2 mark in league play. Piedmont advanced to the quarterfinals of the USA South Tournament before dropping a 2-0 decision against Salem. 

In her first season with Piedmont in 2018, the women's soccer team won the USA South Tournament in thrilling fashion. After a double-OT win against host and top-seeded Greensboro College, the Lady Lions won 1-0 over Maryville in the championship thanks to tournament MVP Allie Kuzel's game-winner in the 35th minute. 

The Lady Lions were 7-1 in USA South play with the lone loss coming against the Scots of Maryville with redemption on championship Sunday. Piedmont posted 16 shutouts while outscoring opponents 41-10.

Hines joins a Piedmont team that posted an undefeated 16-0-4 record in 2017 in the first season under McCormack's leadership. The Lady Lions were 6-0-1 in league play earning the USA South Regular Season West Division Championship. A total of eight Lady Lions were named to the all-conference listing including Cassidy Reich who took Player of the Year honors. 

Hines was a member of a Huskies team that saw a total of 42 wins over her four year career including a 14-7-2 record in 2014. The Huskies advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament that season making back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 2014 and 2015. 

Hines played in a total of 77 games over her career with her most impressive season coming in 2015. She started 19 of 21 games in her sophomore season posting a pair of goals and four assists with over 1,400 minutes. 

While a member of the Huskies team, Hines earned the team's Unsung Hero, Loyalty, and Faith awards. She was also a 2013 NSCAA High School All-American. 

Hines holds her U.S. Soccer "D" License Coaching Certification. She also holds the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and United Soccer Coaches National Diploma.

Hines is a 2018 graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in English. Hines is originally from Issaquah, Washington and will assist McCormack in all facets of the Lions soccer program.
