Stephanie Smart enters her fourth season at Piedmont as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2022. Smart joined the Piedmont staff in the summer of 2019 after serving as an intern athletic trainer at Louisiana College in 2018-19.
In her first four seasons at Piedmont, Smart worked primarily with volleyball, women's basketball, men's and women's golf and men's and women's tennis.
During her time at Louisiana College, Smart worked primarily with the men’s soccer, women’s basketball, men’s golf and softball programs.
Smart worked with several programs at Marshall including football, women’s basketball, women’s soccer and track & field. During clinicals, Smart also worked with the Marshall Health Sports Medicine Institute and a pair of high schools.
Smart has related experience through contract work including an internship with Union Parish High School while in college at Louisiana Tech. She served as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach for the girl’s track and field team.
Smart earned her bachelor of science in kinesiology with a concentration in health promotion from Louisiana Tech University in 2016. She added her master’s in athletic training from Marshall University in 2018.
Smart is certified through the BOC and licensed as an Athletic Trainer. A member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), she is also CPR/AED certified.
