Troy Weiman enters his second season with the Piedmont University athletic communications staff in the fall of 2021 under Assistant Athletic Director of Communications Danielle Percival. Weiman joined Piedmont following a two-year stop at Midland University in Nebraska as a graduate assistant in sports information.
During his time at Midland, Weiman managed various aspects of sports information and event management duties across the 32 varsity sports offered by the Warriors. He created written content including game recaps, game notes and bio pages while also keying and calling for statistics for 12 different sports.
Weiman also created video content ranging from hype videos to highlights. He traveled with teams to national tournaments serving as acting SID for men's basketball games at NCAA DI Nebraska-Omaha and Creighton.
Weiman earned valuable experience with the Bismarck Larks Baseball team as a media and video production intern during the summers of 2017 & 2018 in North Dakota. He contributed to the live-stream production of games including color commentary as part of the 2017 Northwoods League Broadcasting Team of the Year.
While at Iowa, Weiman worked with both the Big Ten Network Student U and KRUI Student Radio. He served as a camera operator, director and commentator with the Big Ten Network Student U and wrote games summaries and other articles for the KRUI website covering the Iowa Hawkeyes. Weiman also managed the twitter account for KRUI providing updates on athletic developments.
Weiman graduated from the University of Iowa in 2018 with a bachlor of arts in Journalism and Mass Communications and a bachelor of science in Sport and Recreation Management. Weiman earned his master of science in Adult and Organizational Learning from Midland University in 2020.
Weiman will assist in all aspects of athletic communications.
