Piedmont University Athletics

The home of the Piedmont University men’s and women’s track and field teams, the Wilbanks Track is located just off campus at Piedmont on the Demorest-Mount Airy Highway. The eight-lane synthetic running surface, includes a throws venue with multiple throws cages, multi-directional shot put rings and sectors and a synthetic surface javelin runway located within the West D-Zone with a natural grass surface in the infield. Additionally, Wilbanks Track has a synthetic high jump runway with size capabilities to relocate the jumping pit to adapt to windy conditions. There are also two horizontal jumps runways and sand pits located outside of the North straight and a pole vault runway and box on the East curve.
 
Wilbanks Track is located on the former Piedmont Golf Course that has since been rededicated as Wilbanks Middle School.
