Biography

As a Freshman (2013): Saw action in 24 games on the mound for the Lions posting 22 starts…Ranked second in the USA South in strikeouts (108) and third in innings pitched (147.1)…Tossed a complete game and received the win in her first career start on the mound against Berry (2/15), also hit a homerun in her first career appearance…Struck out a season-high 10 batters in a 13 inning performance against Greensboro (4/13)…As a hitter she posted a batting average of .344 and recorded 15 RBI on the year…Voted as the USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Year…Second Team All-USA South Conference selection…USA South Academic All-Conference.

Prep & Personal: Born August 30th, 1994 to parents Marta Martin and Greg Ellingson…Biology Major at Piedmont… Dean’s List Honoree spring semester of her freshman year and summer of 2013...Member of the National Society of Leadership and Success…Graduated Honors with distinction from Habersham Central High School in 2012…Honor Roll every semester in high school…Member of National Society of High School Scholars… Prepped under Coach Stephanie Thomas at Habersham Central…Played for Georgia Fire under coaches Billy Campbell and Jimmy Martin…While in high school, she was awarded with honorable mentions as a freshman, second team as a sophomore, and first team as a junior…Also pitcher of the year as a junior and player of the month in August 2010.
