DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's basketball returned home and delivered a decisive 72-35 win against Covenant on Wednesday night at Cave Arena.

It was a balanced scoring attack from Piedmont, with 10 different players scoring but only one in double figures, led by
Lily Conkell with 11 points.
Kelsey Banks caught fire from beyond the arc, making three three-pointers for nine points. Four Lions ended the night with eight points in
Kylie Watkins,
Riley Bryan,
Alexandria Willis and
Gracie Deetz.
Piedmont blitzed the Scots out of the gate, scoring the game's first 16 points and holding them scoreless for the first 8:32 of the contest.
The Lions continued to pour it on in the second quarter, leading by over 20 points early in the period before pushing the lead to 30 midway through the quarter, which is where it stayed going to the break.
Although the Scots held tough in the third quarter, the Piedmont lead was insurmountable, and the Lions played more stifling defense, allowing just four points in the final quarter to win by 37 points.
