DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's basketball started 2026 on a high note, rolling past Agnes Scott for a 72-50 win Tuesday evening at Cave Arena.
The Lions led wire-to-wire and left no doubt, taking a double digit lead in the early going and never looking back.
Piedmont took a 45-23 lead into halftime and extended to 30 points late in the third quarter as a number of Lions scored in the game.
Senior
Riley Bryan led the way with 14 points and was a factor on the defensive end as well, with six rebounds and five steals.
Gracie Deetz posted another double double, with 11 points and 10 rebounds to go with four steals.
Alexandria Willis dominated in her 16 minutes of action, scoring 10 points and grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds.
Overall, it was a balanced scoring attack for the Lions, with 12 different players with at least one point.
After knocking down a second-half three pointer, freshman
Addison Rouse scored her first points as a Lion.
Up next, the Lions will remain at home, hosting Huntingdon this Saturday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.

- Piedmont scored over 20 points in each of the first three quarters to build an insurmountable lead.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Willis delivered her second consecutive double double and third of the season.
- Deetz's double double marked her second of the season.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lions forced 41 turnovers from the Scotties and scored 29 points off those turnovers.
