FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Piedmont women's tennis completed play in its third fall tournament of the season over the weekend, taking on the Methodist Invitational in Fayetteveille, North Carolina on Friday and Saturday.

In total, eight different Lions made the trip and competed against former USA South foes Methodist, Averett and N.C. Wesleyan along with Division II opponents Mt. Olive and Barton.

It was a solid weekend of work for the Lions against tough competition, highlighted by Sarah Row and Halee Harper tying for first place in their flight as both went undefeated in singles.

Harper won a pair of matches in dominant fashion, losing just a total of five games across two standout performances over opponents from Methodist.




Row, meanwhile, won all three of her matches in straight sets over foes from Methodist, losing just six total games, including a 6-0, 6-0 win mixed in.

Jordan Ballard, Emily Gonzalez, Sarah Sanabia and Kaleigh Stallworth each picked up singles wins over the two days.

In doubles, the duo of of Harper and Sanabia continued their outstanding work, going 2-1 over the weekend.

The doubles teams of Ballard/Caroline Morrison and Gonzalez/Olivia Carpenter also each picked up a victory.

Through three fall events, the Lions have totaled 60 overall wins, with 43 coming in singles and 17 more in doubles.

Up next, the Lions will be sending a trio of student athletes (Ella Kate Canaday, Brooklyn Bolch, Caroline Morrison) to compete in ITA Regionals, set to begin this Friday, Sept. 26 at Emory University.
