WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - In the opening round of the NCAA DIII Women's Golf Championship,
Erin Donovan fought through less than ideal conditions to post a 79 (+7) as one of those fortunate enough to complete round one.
A rain delay halted play at 10:25 a.m. and players returned to the course at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Donovan started at hole 10 and battled through rain early to sit at three over at the time of the delay. Following the near five hour delay, she came out and was able to birdie 16 to finish five over through her first nine.
Turning the corner, Donovan recorded five pars and a birdie on four to end the round with a 79 (+7).
At the top of the leaderboard, three players currently sit tied at 71 (-1).
