NEED TO KNOW:
Score: #18 Randolph-Macon 52, Piedmont 31
ASHLAND, Va. - Piedmont women's basketball ended the 2024-25 campaign with a 52-31 loss at #18 Randolph-Macon Friday in the NCAA First Round.
It was a tough defensive contest between the two squads as Piedmont was held to single digits in all but the third period when the Lions tallied 11 points.
In the opening period, RMC outscored the Lions 17-7, but that was the highest total the Yellow Jackets would amass in a single quarter.
The Lions defense held Randolph-Macon to shooting just 1-of-15 from 3-point range while Piedmont had a pair of 3-pointers. RMC shot 41% from the floor while holding Piedmont to 21%.
Alexandria Willis led Piedmont with a double double scoring 12 points and snagging 11 rebounds.
