By Joseph Garwood: Director of Athletic Communications

The Piedmont women's basketball team will tip off its 2025-26 season at home against in-state rival Oglethorpe. Tipoff is scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. This marks the first time since the 2021 season in which the Lions have opened the season at home.

  1. The Lions will be looking to repeat as CCS Conference Champions after a very successful 20-8 season.
  2. Piedmont took home a share of the CCS Regular Season title with a 14-2 conference record.
  3. The Lions successfully defended their home court in the CCS Tournament, cutting down the nets after defeating LaGrange in the semifinals and Belhaven in the final.
  4. This marked the seventh time the Lions have won a conference tournament championship under the direction of Head Coach Jamie Purdy, and their first within the CCS.
  5. Piedmont was picked to finish first in the CCS Preseason Coaches Poll, just ahead of Asbury.
