COLUMBIA, S.C. - Piedmont men's swimming remains undefeated after a dominant win in South Carolina Saturday afternoon.
Piedmont swept all events while boasting four multiple-event winners in the contest.
The Lions' first event and win of the day came in the 200-yard relay. The team of
Brady Bowman,
Ryan Smith,
Preston Allen, and
Luke Borgmann brought home the win with a final time of 1:45.38. Piedmont's B team in the race, composed of
Jake Bellem, Kyle Ezekiel,
Jake Kucera, and Beckham Korb, finished second in the medley with a time of 1:53.27.
Piedmont's individual stars also shined in the contest, as they were a large part of the meet.
Henry Rickman continues to have an impressive season, as the sophomore won both of his events on the afternoon. Rickman's first victory came in the 200-yard freestyle as he posted a time of 1:56.29, besting Columbia's ZaShawn Barr. Rickman's second win of the day was in the 100-yard freestyle with a final time of 51:56.
Brady Bowman,
Preston Allen, and
Ryan Smith collected individual wins as well as their win in the 200-yard relay. Bowman secured his individual win in the 100-yard backstroke as he finished with a time of 56.63, and Smith competed and won in the 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 1:08.18. Allen brought home the win in the 50-yard butterfly event for the Lions with a final time of 25.63.
Overall Piedmont dominated the meet as they continue to put up impressive times as they aim for another fantastic season.
The Lions' next event will be their midseason invitational in Columbus, Ga., starting on Nov. 20 and ending on Nov. 22. Times for the invite are to be announced.
