TALLULAH FALLS, Ga. - After a dominant win in their season opener, the men's swimming squad didn't miss a beat as they defeated Warren Wilson to the tune of 193-12.
The Lions opened with an impressive 200 medley relay, sweeping the top three spots with the lead team of
Reid Barnes,
Ryan Smith,
Preston Allen and
Carmen Yeager finishing with a time of 1:44.76
This would be the first win of Piedmont's big day as the Lions swept all events, totaling 13 wins overall.
Four Lions tied at two events each across the day, with seven overall taking home individual wins.
Sophomore
Henry Rickman continued building a strong season as he took home the 200 and 100 free.
Ryan Smith picked up a pair of wins as well, as the junior won both the 50 and 100 breaststroke events with times of 29.62 and 1:04.68, respectively.
The third double event winner of the day was freshman standout
Brady Bowman, who swam and won the 100 back and the 50 fly event.
Piedmont's final double event winner was
Jake Bellem. The 50 back and 100 IM were his races, and with times of 26.98 and 1:00.12, the freshman brought home both wins.
The Lions will have two weeks to rest and recover before heading to Asheville, N.C. to face off against Warren Wilson and Southern Virginia University on Oct. 25th at 2:00 p.m.
