Fall Season Preview: Women's Tennis

DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's tennis returns to the courts tomorrow for the first time since capturing its third consecutive conference tournament title and second straight CCS Tournament Title.

Piedmont Invitational Schedule

Piedmont's fall season begins at home as it will host the Piedmont Invitational for the third consecutive year. The Lions will host teams from Methodist, Sweet Briar, Maryville, Agnes Scott and Columbia College. It will be played in Hidden Dual format, with the Lions slated to take on Methodist and Sweet Briar in singles on Friday before battling conference foes Maryville and Agnes Scott in doubles.

Play is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday and 9:45 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Piedmont will also be in action next weekend as it travels to the Huntingdon Invitational for more tournament action. The Lions will also play a pair of home dual matches in the fall, hosting both Pfeiffer and LaGrange in Demorest on Friday, September 20.

This season, the Lions return three-time all-conference honoree Alyssa McSpadden, two-time all-conference performer Bri Laidman and 2024 All-CCS Second Team player Jordan Ballard.

Dannie Evans also returns for a fifth season after breaking out last season with multiple CCS Doubles Team of the Week awards.

The Lions also add a crop of six newcomers into the fold this fall.
