SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Piedmont women's tennis enjoyed another successful weekend of tournament play, traveling to Sweet Briar, Virginia to take part in the Battle of the Blue Ridge on Saturday.
The Lions were able to amass a 13-10 overall record in its singles matches and added three more doubles wins, with two wins over opponents from Guilford and another win over a team from Washington College.
Three Lions were champions of their pods, as
Olivia Carpenter,
Hollan Rabensdorf and
Sarah Sanabia each went 2-0.
Drea Robinson,
Alyssa McSpadden,
Jordan Ballard,
Kameron London,
Bri Laidman and
Sarah Row also each picked up singles wins.
In doubles action,
Brooklyn Bolch and
Caroline Morrison won, 6-3, over a team from Washington College while the teams of Laidman and McSpadde and then Carpenter and
Abby Gayle Moody prevailed over Guilford.
Rabensdorf delivered a pair of hard-fought match wins, going to third-set match breakers to defeat opponents from Sweet Briar and Guilford.
Up next, the Lions will turn to dual match action, with a doubleheader scheduled for this Friday, September 20 at home against Pfeiffer and LaGrange.
