Season Preview: Women's Soccer

The Piedmont women's soccer team will kick off its 2024 season this Sunday, September 1 with a road contest against a tough Virginia Wesleyan squad before returning for the home opener against Toccoa Falls on Wednesday, September 4.

5 THINGS TO KNOW

The Lions will be looking to rebound in 2024 after falling short in their CCS title defense in 2023.
Piedmont was able to secure its 15th consecutive full season with 10 or more victories
The Lions bring back a pair of All-CCS performers from a season ago in juniors Sierra Judson and Paige Kluba, who were the top two goal scorers for the Lions in 2023.
Standout goalkeeper Haylee Dornan also returns to the fold. The Cumming, Georgia native was the 2023 CCS Tournament MVP.
Head Coach Timmy McCormack needs just nine wins to reach 100 for his career. He has led the Lions to a winning season in each of his seven seasons at the helm.

COACHING/SUPPORT STAFF

Head coach Timmy McCormack enters his eighth season leading the program.
- In his first seven years at the helm, McCormack already owns:
  - An undefeated season (2017)
  - USA South Tournament Championship (2018)
  - USA South West Division Tournament Championship (Spring 2021)
  - USA South West Division Regular Season Championship (2021)
  - USA South Coach of the Year (2021)
  - Named United Soccer Coaches Regional Staff of the Year alongside assistant Rachel Hines (2021)
  - CCS Tournament Championship (2022)
Assistant coach Stephanie Lamm enters her fourth season with the program in the fall of 2023 after helping the team to a 13-2-1 conference record over her first three seasons with the team.
- Lamm joined the Piedmont staff after a graduate assistant position at Rockford University in Illinois from 2019-2021.
