Senior Spotlight: Women's Soccer By Danielle Percival: Assistant A.D. of Communications 10/24/2024 10:15:00 AM 2024 Women's Soccer Senior Spotlight L to R: Sophie Wells, Chloe Spradlin, Haylee Dornan, Ayndi Wimmer, Victoria Sierra These five seniors have helped the Lions to 42 overall wins over the last four seasons including an amazing 23-5-3 conference record. The group led the team to a USA South West Division Regular Season Title in the Fall of 2021 and a year later, the group was able to complete the sweep, taking the regular season title and tournament title in the team’s inaugural year in the Collegiate Conference of the South. Individually, these five have combined for over 240 games played, over 100 starts, while adding 14 goals, 11 assists and a pair of all-conference appearances while off the field, they have combined for five appearances on the USA South and CCS Academic All-Conference listing. #4 CHLOE SPRADLIN | ATLANTA, GA. Spradlin has appeared in 36 games and has made 13 starts over her three seasons with the Lions. She has been a standout defender and has provided offense as well, with four career goals and one assist, which served as the equalizer in the second half of last season’s CCS Quarterfinal win over LaGrange. Off the field, Chloe is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection and was a member of the CSC Academic All-District Team in 2023. She plans to graduate this December with a degree in sports and mass communications. #8 VICTORIA SIERRA | ORLANDO, FLA. Sierra has appeared in 59 contests and has made 19 starts over four seasons in Demorest. She has tallied eight goals over her career, with two being game winners while also dishing out seven assists. In her debut season of 2021, she assisted on a late game-winner for the Lions in a 1-0 season-opening win over Berry and was named to the All-USA South West Division Second Team at the end of that season. Earlier this season, she scored the game-winning goal off an assist from her sister Christina at home against Huntingdon. Victoria plans to graduate in the spring with a degree in Pure Mathematics. Wimmer has played in 68 games including 12 starts over four seasons at Piedmont. She has made contributions all over the field, all the way from forward to goalkeeper. Ayndi has a pair of career assists, with one coming in a home win over Warren Wilson in 2023 and the other in Piedmont’s 10-0 win at Wesleyan this season, in which she also made an appearance in goal. She plans to graduate in May with a degree in nursing. Wimmer (L) with teammate Jocelyn Maseda (R) #14 SOPHIE WELLS | CHARLOTTE, N.C. Wells has played in 25 games and started 20 in just two seasons with the Lions. She has been a force all over the field, adding a goal and an assist for her career. Last season, Sophie made her presence known in her return from an injury, scoring in the second half to lift the Lions to a Senior Day win over Asbury. She added an assist this season in Piedmont’s 3-0 road win over CCS foe Agnes Scott. Wells plans to graduate in December with a degree in Art Therapy. #34 HAYLEE DORNAN | CUMMING, GA. Dornan has appeared in 58 contests and made 42 starts, mostly as a goalkeeper over four seasons with the Lions. Before an injury this season, Dornan reached the 200 career save milestone thanks to season-high 10 saves to help the Lions earn a 1-1 draw against Brevard. Dornan saved her best for the biggest moments, coming up with multiple big saves as Piedmont defeated Maryville at home to capture the 2022 CCS Tournament Title. Dornan was named CCS Tournament MVP for her effort and was an All-CCS Second Team Selection that season. A 3-time CCS Defensive Player of the Week, Haylee was also a standout in the classroom, earning Academic All-Conference honors three times and a CSC Academic All-District nod in 2023. Dornan plans to graduate next May with a degree In history and sociology.
