DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's soccer was unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Belhaven in the CCS Semifinals at home Wednesday. The Lions conclude the season with a 7-6-4 record. 

Through the first 23 minutes of the game, it was all Belhaven despite being a scoreless contest, as the Blazers had seven shots while Piedmont had not taken one. Hannah Thompson corralled five saves through the first 23 minutes of action and totaled six saves in the first half. 

On a promising offensive attack by the Blazers in the 25', Sophie Wells had a great slide tackle to clear the ball and create a deep throw-in but save a potential corner opportunity.

Belhaven tallied 13 shots in the opening half with just one additional on goal (6), but Piedmont could not find any offensive opportunities in the opening 45. 

In the 57', Belhaven broke the scoreless drought with the game-winner on a second-chance effort by Nneka Udeh. Piedmont was saved first by a shot that hit the crossbar and bounced back into play, but the second shot off the crossbar was not as lucky and bounced over Thompson into the net. 

Piedmont had back-to-back corner kicks in the 67th and 68th minutes but could not convert on those chances. The Lions totaled six shots in the contest with three on goal but could not capitalize on the opportunities. 

TURNING POINT:
--Belhaven scored the lone goal of the game in the 57th minute of the contest to claim the victory. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--The Blazers outshot Piedmont 21-6 in the game.
