SALEM, Va. – The Piedmont University men's cross country team finished 5th at the Roanoke XC Invitational on Saturday. Senior
Walker Capelle highlighted the meet, breaking the school record in the 8k after posting a time of 25:21.2.
Capelle's time placed him 18th overall at the meet with senior
Layton Bradford close behind in 26th place (25:57.3).
Senior
Tucker Cox crossed in 26:27.3, earning him 35th place while sophomore
Grady Sanders posted a 27:29.5.
Freshman
Brody Geckler ran a 27:38.8 with sophomore
Parker Snelson not far behind with a 28:15.0.
Finishing back-to-back, senior
Keshawn Maxwell crossed in 28:27.3 while senior
Jadon Gonzales finished just .5 seconds behind (28:27.8).
Sammy Maddox (30:53.2),
Lance Morley (33:11.6), and
David Moore (36:30.1) rounded out the finishers for Piedmont.
Up next, the Lions prepare for the CCS Championships, traveling to Jackson, Miss. on Friday, Nov 1.
