MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Piedmont University women's golf team concluded the Montgomery Women's Intercollegiate Monday with eight birdies in the round. The Lions were led by
ERIN DONOVAN who carded a 77 and contributed four birdies on the day.
Donovan birdied twice on the front and back nine as she again excelled on the front nine shooting one under.
SARAH FOX and freshman
KEEGAN GOINS both turned in an 81 as both players birdied five and Goins shot three birdies in four holes on the front nine.
Piedmont's final counting score came from
CAITLYN CHILITO as she turned in an 89 while
SAVANNAH BAREFOOT shot a 91.
Carnegie Mellon held on to win as a team by a single stroke over Emory. Carnegie Mellon's Samantha Wang shot up the leaderboard to win the event with a 68 in the final round to finish six under for the tournament.
The Lions will be in action with a B team event on October 16-17 at the Pfeiffer Invitational.
