JACKSON, Miss. - The Piedmont women's soccer team was unable to find offense in a 3-0 road loss at Belhaven on Saturday night in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Blazers capitalized off a Piedmont own goal in the opening minutes and were able to add two more goals to add on, with one coming late in the first half and another early in the second half.
The Blazers held a 17-4 shot advantage including a 9-4 edge in shots on goal.
Piedmont goalkeeper
HAYLEE DORNAN did her part to help keep Belhaven at bay, making seven saves in the loss.
This marks the second season in a row in which the Blazers and Lions have met in the second game of Piedmont's CCS season. Last season was also a Belhaven victory. However, from that point forward, the Lions did not lose the rest of the way on their way to the CCS Regular Season and Tournament titles.
Overall, 23 different Lions saw action in the contest.
Up next, Piedmont will be right back in action with another road game in Mississippi, this time stepping out of conference to battle Millsaps at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
