ROME, Ga. - In a match that took less than 30 minutes to complete, the Piedmont women's tennis team dispatched Huntingdon 5-0 in the CCS Tournament Semifinals on Friday afternoon in Rome, Georgia.

Playing against a Huntingdon squad that only had four available players, the Lady Lions started the match with a 3-0 lead as the Hawks were forced to forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

This meant a doubles sweep would clinch the match for Piedmont.

It was a dominating performance in the two doubles matches that were contested as BRI LAIDMAN and IMANI VINCENT polished off an 8-0 sweep at No. 1 just seconds before ABBEY GRACE VENHAM and ALYSSA MCSPADDEN did the same at No. 2 doubles to earn the clinch.

This marks Piedmont's second consecutive 5-0 shutout at the conference tournament after winning by the same margin on Thursday in the quarterfinals over LaGrange.

Up next, the Lady Lions will look for its second consecutive conference tournament title, taking on Covenant, which won 5-0 as well in the semifinals Friday. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be viewed through Playsight Interactive here or by going to the Playsight Interactive website, searching 'Watch Live' and typing 'Rome Tennis Center' in the search bar.
