WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Piedmont men's swimming team took care of a pair of opponents on Saturday afternoon in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, sweeping a double dual against Greensboro and Division II Chowan University.

The sweep for the Lions improves the team's overall record to 9-1, with their only loss being a narrow defeat to DII Mars Hill.

Mirroring the success of the women's squad, Piedmont's win over Chowan marks the first in the program's history over a DII opponent.

Piedmont delivered four overall wins on the day, led by two from Leandro Farrero. However, it was consistency throughout the whole lineup that led the Lions to win the close dual with Chowan.

Farrero picked up the team's first win of the day with a dominant performance in the 1000 free. It was all Lions at the top of that event, as MATTHEW LUTHER took second and GLYNN MORGAN third.

PARKER RICKS then took the 200 free with a time of 2:26.75 while Morgan was victorious in the 200 fly at 2:20.55.

Finally, it was Farrero providing bookend wins for the Lions, taking the top spot in the 500 free, just ahead of his teammate PARKER REASON.

The Lions also delivered strong team performances in the 200 breast and 200 IM, not with a winner but taking the 2nd through 4th spots led by second-place finishes from ERICK FORTNER in both.

Up next, the Lions. will look to continue their winning ways, as they head to Cary, North Carolina to battle Wiliam Peace tomorrow at 1 p.m.
