ATLANTA, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team concluded its regular season on Sunday afternoon, preparing for the USA South Conference Tournament against tough competition in No. 7 Sewanee.
The Lady Lions fell, 9-0, but gained important experience against a top-10 national opponent as the USA South Tournament is set to begin this week in Rome, Georgia.
For the second time this season, the Tigers were able to sweep all three doubles lines and all six singles lines, with this match being played in Atlanta, Georgia at Oglethorpe University.
Piedmont returned to the courts for the first time since a 9-0 Senior Day rout of LaGrange on Wednesday, April 13.
The Lady Lions completed their fourth consecutive season with an undefeated conference record and won 6-of-7 matches in conference by a 9-0 margin, earning the No. 1 seed in the USA South West Division.
Piedmont is slated to take on Pfeiffer in the quarterfinals this Thursday, April 28 at 11 a.m. The fourth-seeded Falcons defeated No. 5 seed Meredith to advance. Piedmont defeated Pfeiffer 8-1 at home on March 6 in nonconference action.
