BELTON, Texas - In its first action in over two weeks, the Piedmont women's basketball team fell 83-45 at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday afternoon in Texas.
The Crusaders reached the 20-point mark in 3-of-4 quarters and held the Lady Lions to single digits in the second and fourth quarters to run away with the victory.
UMHBÂ jumped out to a fast start, leading by as many as seven points early in the contest. However, Piedmont fought back in the early going, cutting its deficit to 13-12 at the 2:09 mark of the first quarter.
Unfortunately, the Crusaders responded with a 9-3 run to end the period and did not look back from there.

Although the Lady Lion offense bounced back with a 17-point third quarter, UMHB was still able to increase its margin and the game was never in doubt in the final 20 minutes.
NAKIYAH WASHINGTON led the Lady Lions with 15 points, the only member of the team to reach double figures.
Up next, Piedmont will conclude its Texas trip with a neutral site matchup against East Texas Baptist tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. (ET).
