Men's Swimming Dominates Warren Wilson to Remain Unbeaten

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The Piedmont men's swimming team continued its outstanding fall campaign with its most dominant performance yet in a 193-28 victory at Warren Wilson on Saturday afternoon.

Eight different Lions were victorious in individual events, highlighted by two individual wins each for Leandro Forero, Luke Borgmann and Ross Coppedge.

Forero kept up his incredible fall season, winning the 100 and 200 yard freestyle races. The sophomore took the 200 free by over 13 seconds over the next closest swimmer.

Borgmann took home individual titles in the 50 yard backstroke and the 200 yard IM while Coppedge emerged victorious in the 50 yard breast stroke and 50 yard fly.

Jon Brown (100 fly), Parker Reason (100 back), Aiden Smith (100 breast), Baden Stewart (50 free) and Matthew Luther (500 free) rounded out the 11 total individual victories for the Lions.

The team events brought more Piedmont dominations as the team of Reason, Borgmann, Stewart and Brandon Randall took the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.40. The men's and women's teams also combined to win the mixed 200 medley relay as Smith and Borgmann teamed up with Grace Kopf and Caroline Massaro from the women's squad to bring home the top time of 1:56.88.

Up next, the Lions will be back in action at the three-day Point Invite, beginning Thursday, Nov. 17 in Columbus, Georgia.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Borgmann was a part of four first-place times on Saturday, winning two of his own events (50 back, 200 IM) while being a part of two medley relay wins as well.
