DEMOREST, Ga. – Piedmont College's softball team celebrated senior day in style as the Lady Lions swept both games of a doubleheader with Agnes Scott thanks to stellar pitching and a flurry of runs. The doubleheader sweep also secured Piedmont the USA South West Division Regular Season Championship.

Piedmont won game one 8-0 in six innings after a three-run bottom of the sixth inning secured a walk-off win and a six-inning no-hitter for freshman pitcher EMMA MCBRAYER. Game two also ended on a walk-off win after the Lady Lions plated a run in the bottom of the sixth to win 9-1.

McBrayer bounced back for a dominating performance on Sunday after taking the loss to Wesleyan on Friday afternoon in one of her more trying outings of the season. The freshman struck out two and hit one batter during her stellar outing while her defense made just one error behind her in game one.

McBrayer helped her own cause multiple times during the game as she went 3-for-3 at the plate with one run, one RBI, and one walk.

The Lady Lions scored their first runs of the day in the third inning of game one as KATELYN PERRY's RBI single scored TK SAULS to break the stalemate. That run opened the floodgates for the Piedmont offense as the Lady Lions put up crooked numbers in each of the next three innings.

Sauls laced an RBI triple to left centerfield, then scored on a double steal in the fourth inning to put the Lions up 3-0. That set the table for a MACKENZIE DAVIS RBI bunt single in the fifth inning that saw two runners come home thanks to aggressive baserunning from the Piedmont runners.

McBrayer and Davis each tallied RBIs in the bottom of the sixth before pinch-hitter JENNA BROACH came up with the bases loaded and launched a game-winning RBI single off the centerfield wall to score McBrayer and secure the freshman's six-inning no-hitter.

Game two featured another great pitching performance from the Lady Lions as senior MADISON WHITESIDE made her first start since 2019 and allowed just one hit and one earned run en route to her first win of the year.

The one run off of Whiteside came in the top of the first inning as the Scotties struck first on an RBI double from KayLeigh Fitzgerald. Piedmont responded in the bottom half when Perry's RBI sac fly scored REBEKAH STEGMAYER, who led off the inning with a triple to left field.

Piedmont added to its lead with a two-RBI double from Davis in the third inning before a huge five-run fourth inning gave Piedmont an 8-1 lead. Perry again delivered the big hit as she cleared the bases with a three-RBI triple to right field.

Perry wasn't done as she notched her sixth RBI of the doubleheader in the sixth inning with a walk-off RBI double to score KAITLIN ISLEY and give Piedmont a 9-1 win and another series sweep.
