LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Piedmont women's soccer team fought to a 1-1 draw Saturday at Covenant College. This is the first draw for Piedmont this season and moves its conference record to 5-1-1 with one conference contest remaining.
It was quiet through the first half as neither team could find the back of the next but once the shots connected, both teams were on the board with just minutes separating their two goals.
Piedmont was the first to strike as
SARAH FISHER put the Lady Lions out in front connecting in the 53rd minute, but the Scots answered with the equalizer in the 55th minute. Fisher was able to arch one over the keeper from just outside the box.
Neither team would find further success though as the two were scoreless from that point on playing a pair of OT periods to no avail. Piedmont tallied 26 shots to the Scots' nine with 10 of Piedmont's shots being on frame.
MIRANDA MCNALLEY had a pair of saves after allowing one goal in 110:00 minutes in goal. Five Lady Lions took multiple shots in the game led by
KAYLEE KING taking seven shots.
Up next, Piedmont has its final conference contest of the regular season on Friday, March 26 at Walker Athletic Complex against Brevard College.
