FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Piedmont women's soccer team saw its USA South Tournament run end with a 1-0 loss to Covenant on Saturday in the final.

Playing in Fayetteville, the Lady Lions and Scots were knotted up at 0-0 for the majority of the game, until Covenant broke through with the late game-winner in the 86th minute from Emma Riggs.

Piedmont got the first ball on frame as KAYLEE KING fired a shot in the 19th minute with Lucy Sandhoff making a save. LAILA ALLEN matched that with a save of her own in the 25th minute.

Sandhoff added another save before halftime as MADDY PARRIS had a shot on goal with less than five on the clock before halftime. At the half, Covenant led with four shots to Piedmont's three.
