LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Piedmont women's basketball team fell 76-46 at Transylvania on Sunday afternoon at the Pat Deacon Thanksgiving Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Pioneers took control of the game in the second quarter and continued to build their lead throughout the second half, running away from the Lady Lions on their way to the 30-point victory.

LIVIA SKINNER was the only Lady Lion in double figures, scoring 10 points to go with four rebounds and three assists.

Piedmont led most of the way throughout the first quarter, taking a 13-9 advantage midway through the first 10 minutes. However, the Pioneers rallied back and used a 10-3 run late in the period to take a 19-16 edge going into the second.

Trailing 24-20 just over three minutes into the second quarter, the Lady Lions allowed Transylvania to go on a 14-2 run to take a 38-22 lead late in the first half. With the game slipping away, Piedmont responded and closed the half on an 8-0 run to make its deficit single digits going to the locker room.

Transylvania raced out of the locker room, with a 17-0 run midway through the third quarter erasing all doubt from the outcome. The Pioneers outscored the Lady Lions 38-16 in the second half.

Up next, the Lady Lions will begin conference play this Saturday, Dec. 4 as they head to Montgomery, Alabama to battle Huntingdon at 3 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
- After Piedmont had cut its deficit to 41-33 early in the second half, the Pioneers used a 17-0 run to build an insurmountable advantage heading to the fourth quarter.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Transylvania enjoyed a tremendous advantage on the glass, grabbing 52 rebounds (20 offensive) compared to 39 for Piedmont.

- LIVIA SKINNER was selected as one of five players for the All-Tournament Team after scoring 38 total points over the two games.
